Trong tiếng anh cũng như tiếng Việt, chúng ta cần phải đặt vị trí từ đúng để hoàn chỉnh một câu. Để diễn tả một vật hay một sự việc nhưng cần nhiều tính từ, chúng ta cần sắp xếp theo một thứ tự hợp lý như sau:
Determiner + Adjective + Noun
Trong đó chúng ta sẽ có 10 từ tính từ khác nhau được sắp xếp theo trật tự:
Opinion - Size + Shape + Condition + Age + Colour + Pattern + Origin + Material + Purpose

Lưu ý: Những từ trên chỉ mang tính chất tham khảo, chưa phải tất cả các từ trong tiếng anh.
